Closed Circuit Television, is essentially a network of cameras and recording equipment that are all directly linked. It’s called ‘closed circuit’ because the entire network is isolated and operates independently, unlike broadcast television which emits a signal that can be picked up by any receiver. It’s a private and secure way to monitor a room, building or facility and guard against threats like intruders or other on-site incidents.

Any camera that broadcasts a signal can be attached to a CCTV system, whether it’s wired or wireless, but they are most often associated with high-end surveillance cameras.
